ABROT
Touch me not child. He will be cranky and irritable when examined. It doesn’t want to be touched or handled. The oil in Abrotanum is used as a repellent so as a doctrine of signature Abrotanum child repels anyone who comes close to him. Abrotanum is always hungry, eats well yet emaciated (Sanic – but Sanicula does not want anyone to lie beside him. They allow the touch of the mother but don’t allow strangers to touch him). There is excessive growth of hair on the body while Thuja has excessive hair growth on unusual parts.
ACET-AC
Acet-Ac is very anxious. They feel frightened by everybody and everything around her. They are anxious about their sickness. The child cannot bear the slightest touch on the head. He has aversion to being touched especially on the head. There is a profuseness of discharges (Urine, Sweat) with insatiable thirst except in fever when he becomes thirstless.
ACON
Aconite Child is friendly with the doctor but becomes panicky and does not allow the doctor to touch or examine him. A/F-Fear and fright. With fear patient screams, moans, gnaws fist, bites nails. Timidity after fright. Fear of touch by others passing by. Avoids crowd. Starting when touched or examined. There is unbearable pain with restlessness and anxiety.
ANT-C
He does not want to be touched; whenever anyone tries to touch the child, he cries immediately. Basically a “TOUCH ME NOT” child as no one should touch or look at her. Dirty looking children, who are always on their mother’s arm and cry when you try to examine or touch them. An overprotective mother who doesn’t allow anyone to lift their child gradually becomes a typical touch me not child. Very sensitive. Doesn’t want to be touched, looked at or talked. Doesn’t want to be disturbed. If disturbed the child gets angry and cranky.
ANT-T
Apathetic, drowsy, dull or easily annoyed; wants to be left alone. TOUCH ME NOT, LOOK AT ME NOT, TALK TO ME NOT. He Cannot tolerate touch. He doesn’t like anything to touch him. The child when sick doesn’t want to be touched or talked to or looked at. Will not allow the doctor to feel the pulse; will howl and shriek if attempted to be examined. If you persist in your look it may have convulsions. He is extremely irritable, he howls if anyone simply looks at him. The child continuously wishes to be carried erect, unwilling to be looked at or touched
ARG-N
Doesn’t want to be examined or touched due to anticipation. Nervousness is marked in Arg-Nit. Very alert on entering the clinic or when you intend to examine him. Will hold mother or attendant. He will hold the stethoscope while you examine him. Though an approaching child doesn’t allow you to examine him and when forced he cries. When you give him a stethoscope, he takes it, inspects it and then slowly allows you to examine. So when you help the child to drop his guard (of anticipation) then you can very easily examine him. You need to reassure him but you cannot go near him. You need to reassure him from a distance and once assured you can easily examine him with ease.
ARN
SORENESS. Fears touch as he feels that anyone approaching him will hurt him. He does not want to be approached both because he does not wish to enter into conversation, a mental state, and also because he does not wish to be touched on account of the great bodily soreness. He does not want to be touched or approached; He feels that anything that is coming towards him is going to hurt him. He is extremely sensitive.
BRY
Touch me not (Disturb me not). He doesn’t want to be examined because he doesn’t want to be disturbed. Irritated when disturbed. Angry when obliged to answer. Wants to be quiet and desires rest. (Though Bryonia is aggravated by slightest touch he is better by pressure. Bryonia will lie on painful parts while belladonna doesn’t want painful parts to be touched.)(Bryonia and chamomilla both are < by touch and cranky but Bryonia is worse at 9 pm and chamomilla is worse at 9 am.)
CHAM
The Chamomilla child cannot be touched. Though oversensitive to touch child can only be quieted when carried about and petted constantly. Chamomilla children won’t allow examination. The child will stiffen himself and bend backward, strike, kicks, when carried, screams immoderately and throws everything off. Even bangs head on the floor. If forced then the child will hit the doctor and be very uncivil to the doctor. Cina also doesn’t want to be touched but in Chamomilla, it is much more mental resentment whereas the Cina child is definitely tender to touch
CHIN
Aversion to being disturbed and touched. They feel that they are being troubled and avoids being touched. Because of physical sensitivity. They are both physically and mentally touchy. Doesn’t want to be caressed. They get irritated if they are hugged or kissed. He doesn’t want to be examined. If forced, they become irritable. They express their irritation on parents and doctors and cry but will never strike (Reaction is verbal and not physical). While lightest touch is unbearable to a diseased part, hard pressure relieves the pain of the same.
CINA
Physically- Very sensitive to touch. While lightest touch is unbearable to a diseased part, hard pressure relieves the pain of the same. Do not want to be touched or carried. Wants to be rocked; the child is aggravated by touch and even by being looked at and is worse from seeing strangers. The skin is sensitive to touch hence does not allow anyone to touch his head. Cannot have head combed or brushed. While slightest touch is unbearable, hard pressure relieves pain. Doesn’t want to be caressed(Like china but China’s reaction is verbal while cina’s reaction is physical. ) On examination child strikes, bites, throws toys at you, weeps and cannot be quieted.
COLOC
Doesn’t want to be touched or disturbed. When he is upset no one should touch him or talk with him otherwise becomes violent and reacts. Just let him like that then after some time he will be normal.
COCC
Sensitive to noise and touch. Cannot bear the slightest touch.
CUPR
Doesn’t want to be touched. Avoids everyone who approaches her and reacts by striking, shrieking, biting, spitting, kicking. Infants do not want anyone to come near them. They become stiff when carried. When you examine the child, child cries loudly, holding its breath spasmodically this is because child gets scared of examination.
HEP
The skin is HYPERSENSITIVE TO TOUCH, cannot bear even clothes to touch affected parts. Touchy, mentally and physically; to pain, cold; easily becomes cross and violent. Child hits kicks and commit dangerous acts. Rudeness and abusive. The slightest thing put him into a violent passion. They have an impulse to do violence and to destroy.
IGN
Touchy – Both mentally and physically. Ignatia children are sensitive to reprimands, punishments and they will be hurt but broods silently. Even if anything is told to them in a lighter note, they become very sensitive. On Examination- Touch me not and will react by taking deep breaths and long-drawn sighs.
IOD
Children very irritable, will not allow anyone to approach them. Fear of being touched. Gets angry if someone touches them. The child is always hungry and never says no to food.
KALI-BR
When the doctor started examining her, she screamed very loudly, got scared and did not allow the doctor to even touch her. The reaction to examination was out of proportion which is the hallmark of Kalis. The child will make eye contact but will not go to strangers. If forcibly examined by the doctor, the child will shriek loudly and out of control because of fear. She weeps uncontrollably and inconsolable.
KALI-C
Cannot bear to be touched. A Kali carb patient is so sensitive in the soles of the feet that the mere touch of the sheet brings a sensation of thrill throughout the body. Violently ticklish in soles. Startles easily from slightest noise or touch. Though aversion to being touched they wants to be carried (like cina and chamomilla.) Kali-C children’s out of proportion reaction is due to fear. The child will not allow examination. He shrieks, startles and all reflexes are out of proportion when examined by the doctor.
KALI-I
Touch me not (Though approaching). Shrieking and weeping when examined. The reaction is sort of hysterical (out of proportion), and the sighing continues long after the doctor has stopped examining. (diffused sensitiveness to touch and pressure)
KALI-M
Startles when examined by the doctor. Child likes sitting silently and doesn’t want to be disturbed. Aversion to noise, study, talk, company, friends. It doesn’t like to be disturbed. Indifferent to all pleasures like sepia.
KALI-P
Physically- sensitive to touch, noise, light. Startled when touched. Easily frightened. Oversensitive children; weeps easily from undue sensitiveness. Startles on being examined. They are quarrelsome like all Kalis with complaints of weak memory and brain fag.
KALI-S
Kali sulph is a mixture of pulsatilla and sulphur. Touch me not. Basically all kalis have hypersensitive reactions. So kali-s is also a touch me not due to sensitivity and they react by shrieking. And Kali-s is close to Puls. It is an aggressive pulsatilla. The differentiating point is kali-s is aggravated by consolation whereas puls is consolation amel. Kali-S is angry and thirsty pulsatilla.
MAG-C
Look at me not. Sensitive to the least touch. It causes startling. Shrieks and startles when touched. Full of fears and anxieties. Children screaming at the sight of the doctor. Children wot demand anything. He has no desires. Along with forsaken feeling, he has aversion to milk.
MAG-P
Touch me not. Convulsions followed by extreme sensitiveness to touch, wind, noise, excitement and to everything. Approaching child but doesn’t want to be touched (because of pains like Arg-nit reaction because of fear, Phos, Thuja because he thinks he is fragile and hence cautious). Spasmodic convulsive sobbing on being examined by the doctor. All mag are non-complaining except mag-phos. Laments all the time about the pains.
MERC
Aversion being touched or looked at. It does not allow to be examined by the doctor. Considers everyone as his enemy. If forced then gets angry. Shrieks then hit and strike the doctor. The child will not obey and do whatever he likes. Child perspires a lot and there is excessive salivation.
NUX-V
Cannot tolerate noise, light or touch. On examination, the child will cry loudly and also hit the doctor. The child is oversensitive mentally and physically. He cannot tolerate contradiction and gets angry when obliged to answer. The child cannot sleep in a noisy environment and gets angry when disturbed.
PETR
Touch me not child. This is because of over sensitiveness to touch. Mannish habits of girls. They are offended easily. Angry carbon- Very outspoken and expresses her displeasure without any fear.
PHOS
Sometimes phos might not allow you to touch because of fears. Normally the child is very open and talkative. But sometimes if the fear creeps in (because of past experience of vaccination, when the doctor had given him injection) then the toddler will also be scared of examination. Phos child who is approaching, but gets scared when you make them lie on the examination table for examination. They will scream. The toddlers are otherwise quite observant and watch carefully what the doctor is doing. Next time he will also try to imitate the same.
PLAT
A touch me not girl. If touched, she gets angry or cries loudly. She cannot bear the touch of a napkin on her parts; it will almost go into a spasm from an examination. They think very highly of themselves and feel that they are very superior. Hence they will not talk to others. This attitude makes them appear withdrawing. But on closely interrogating we realize that it is not that they don’t want to talk but their ego makes them remain aloof and talk only to those who are of their standard. So while talking to others they talk very rudely.
PLB
Excessive hyperesthesia, could not bear to be touched anywhere, it hurt so. They are aggravated by touch and there is a fear of being touched. They have slow perception. The child is emaciated and constipated with large abdomen.
PULS
Fear of being left alone and being in the dark. You feel like touching them but the moment you approach, they will start weeping loudly. He always want to be carried, but wants to be carried slowly (Ferrum) because he wants the touch of the mother more than the movement. Doesn’t want to be rocked (Relieved by fast motion, wants to move fast- Bromium, Arsenic Album). The moment the mother puts the child down, she starts crying and the mother has to pick him up again. He seems like chamomilla but Cham has a demanding cry which irritates mother whereas Puls has pitiful cry which evokes sympathy. Touch me not due to timidity. Doesn’t want to be examined by the doctor, weeps loudly but will be quiet when consoled by the mother.
RHEUM
Talk to me not, Touch me not. She can’t sit for a second, keeps moving, but no one should touch her. She gets irritated and cranky. They sweat a lot and all discharges are offensive. They are rude. He keeps legs on the doctor’s table. Rheum is a combination of Mag Carb and Chamomilla.
RUTA
Strong disposition to sleep in the evening and after a meal, waking with a start, and piercing cries on least touch.
SANIC
Obstinate, Headstrong touchy children. Aversion to touch; cannot bear anyone to lie close to him or to have one part touch another. The child gets angry and kicks and throws himself backward. The child cannot resist drinking water on seeing it. Doesn’t want to be carried or raised. Anxiety of downward motion yet desire to be rocked.
SEPIA
Sepia child is very lazy and indolent and is completely indifferent to every one. Sepia child is Agg by touch. Child is not interested in pleasurable activities like toys, T.V., playing etc. Indifference to loved ones. Fear to see the doctor; they seem to terrify her.
SIL
One of the most sensitive and touchy remedy. Slightest criticism or reprimands, even the kind words bring tears in Silicea child. Silicea feels very chilly; hence better when held warmly by mother but will start crying if a stranger tries to touch him. Silicea child is weepy and cranky who cries at every little thing like Pulsatilla child but Silicea is chilly while Pulsatilla is Hot. When the doctor examines the child, he resents interference and is more inclined to retire into his shell. There is great irritability and painful sensitiveness from touch. The child wants to be magnetized by mother and family members which ameliorate. One of the most diligent remedy who will always do his homework with promptness and accuracy.
STRAM
The stramonium child is a scared child, feels terrified when left alone, and feels helpless and forsaken. Though an approaching child, he will not allow you to examine because of fears (feels terrified) and the reaction is screams with fright and clings to mother (panic). Clinging child. He wants to be held all the time by parents. They panic from small stimulus. Hold or clings tightly. The child cannot bear solitude and darkness. He wants light and company. Fear of dogs.
THUJ
Thuja is a touch me not child due to cautiousness. The Thuja child feels vulnerable from inside. Thuja has a delusion that his body is made up of glass. He thinks he is vulnerable and can break easily. Hence does not want anyone to touch him. So, a Thuja child does not allow the doctor to examine him and starts crying, throws himself on the floor, and holds his breath. The child is very careful and never gets hurt. These children are very cautious while walking. Fear of being struck; fear of others approaching, cannot bear to have anyone near. Nervous begins to twitch on approach of strangers. Very sensitive, Sensitive to kindness and sensitive to music, and are affected by it, that they may even weep from it.
TUB
A reckless, defiant and carefree child. These children are courageous, bold and fearless. However, they don’t want to be examined by doctor and will strike the doctor if examined. The reason is that they do not want to be disturbed and wants to do things in their way, and when you disturb them, they behave aggressively. When angry they will either strike back at you, or will bang their head (anger intrapunitive), which is hallmark for tuberculinum. They have lots of contradictory symptoms. Bold and daring when dealing with a human, but fear when dealing with animals. Need speed and air, hence wants to go out of the house and loves to sit in front of bike, while riding with father.
